What is The Artificial Restaurant?

We are a successful pop-up restaurant, situated at a beautiful spot next to the waterfront in one of our country’s top-5 largest cities. Since we started 5 years ago, we managed to build a strong community with a substantial number of long-term loyal customers. 

What issues were you facing?

As a local entrepreneur it is becoming ever more difficult to compete against the vast amount of retail chains. Key to survival is a dedicated community of loyal customers, and we were looking for ways to strengthen our bond with them. We discovered STO as a way to convert customers into stakeholders.

How did STO help you navigate those issues?

We decided to tokenize our restaurant’s operations, meaning that digital shares in the restaurant company were created and issued in the form of security tokens. The tokens were offered for sale to our whole value chain, including suppliers, staff, and customers. We truly “incorporated” our community into our business.

How did you engage buyers?

The security token grants a profit participation right in the form of a dividend. Next to that, the token also gives exclusive access to the customer loyalty program, with benefits such as first choice in terms of seating next to the waterfront, a special weekly menu for token holders, free drinks, and so on.

What are the next steps?

The token sale was a great success, which is clear proof to us that we are valuable to our community and environment. The token proceeds will be used to invest in an adjacent building, allowing us to turn our business into a permanent all-year-round restaurant, serving many more customers and generating substantially larger returns.
