What is The Artificial Festival?
Imagine a yearly recurring 2-day music festival which has been around for over 5 years and a growing fan base from over 10.000 visitors last year, with various well-known artists performing on 3 different stages, ranging from pop to rock to electronic.
What issues were you facing?
For our latest edition, we were looking for better ways of community participation, because after so many successful years we wanted to do something back for our loyal visitors. At the same time, we were looking into new sources of funding to expand the festival. This is where security token technology came into play.
How did STO help you navigate those issues?
Via STO, we were able to easily create and sell digital shares of The Artificial Festival (in the form of security tokens), which we sold exclusively to our most loyal fans. In return for their token investment, they received a profit participation right, as well as several non-monetary benefits. Fans could invest in tokens with the amount of their choice.
How did you engage fans?
For instance, we built a special mini-stage where only security token holders could get access to, with exclusive artist performances! It was a huge success! Next to that, security token holders were paid a dividend from the additional financial income created by their investment.
What are the next steps?
In the next years, we want to keep issuing tokens, as the token proceeds will be used to expand the festival to 4 permanent stages over 3 days. Thanks to this participation of our loyal community, we are able to grow, offer our visitors a better experience, setup something special every edition for our most loyal fans, and make the festival more resilient to force majeure with less dependency on sponsors and subsidies.
